Cookie policy

Which cookies and similar technologies this website uses, and how you can control them.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Similar technologies include local and session storage in your browser. They help websites function and can remember choices you make.

How this website uses them

Property Caribbean is designed to work with as few cookies as possible. Necessary technologies include:

  • Session storage, used to remember your most recent property search filters while you browse, so the back link from a listing returns you to the same results. It is cleared when you close the browser tab.
  • Technical tokens used by our enquiry form's invisible anti-spam check. These are requested only when you use a form and are not used for tracking.

We also store your analytics cookie choice locally for up to six months, so we can respect it on later visits. This preference is not used to track you.

Optional Google Analytics

If you choose Accept analytics, Google Analytics helps us understand visits, page navigation and general website usage. It can set the cookies named `_ga` and `_ga_1VVVYEJ489` for up to six months. These distinguish visits and maintain analytics session information. We do not load Google Analytics or send analytics requests before you accept. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from browsing properties or sending enquiries.

We do not enable Google advertising signals or advertising personalisation. Our form fields are not added to analytics events. Google's handling of analytics information is explained in its privacy policy (opens in a new tab).

To change your choice, select Cookie settings in the footer. Rejecting analytics stops further analytics measurement and removes our Google Analytics cookies. If your choice expires or browser storage is cleared, we ask again. Our privacy policy explains your data rights.

Third-party sites

Our pages link to external websites such as GOV.UK, the Central Bank of Barbados, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and social media channels. Those sites set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may mean some features, such as remembering search filters, do not work as intended. The UK Information Commissioner's Office publishes guidance on cookies (opens in a new tab).
