Privacy policy
Who we are
This website, Propertyinthecaribbean.co.uk ("Property Caribbean", "we", "us"), is operated in association with Spot Blue International Property Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 4864440. We are the controller of personal data submitted through this website. To raise any privacy question or exercise your rights, please use our contact form.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry we collect the details you give us: first and last name, email address, international telephone number, your message, and optionally a property reference, preferred destination and budget band. We also record that you gave consent, the time of submission and limited technical information needed to protect the form from abuse, such as an anti-spam verification token. We do not ask for special category data and ask that you do not include it in messages.
How we use it
We use your details to respond to your enquiry, to discuss properties and destinations you have asked about, and to keep a record of our correspondence. Our lawful bases under the UK GDPR are your consent, given when you tick the consent box, and our legitimate interest in responding to and managing enquiries. We do not sell your data and we do not use it for automated decision-making.
With your separate permission, we use Google Analytics to understand page visits, navigation and general website usage. Analytics remains off until you accept analytics cookies. We do not add the names, email addresses, phone numbers or messages entered in enquiry forms to analytics events. Google processes analytics information under its privacy policy (opens in a new tab). You can withdraw analytics consent at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.
Sharing
We may share your enquiry with colleagues in our associated business who handle Caribbean property enquiries, and with service providers who host our website and database under contract. Your enquiry details are also sent through Web3Forms, which provides our enquiry email notification service. With your agreement, we may introduce you to a listing agent or independent professional; we will tell you before doing so. Where data is processed outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law.
Retention and security
Enquiries are stored in a secured database with restricted access. We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to deal with your interest in buying and for a reasonable period afterwards, normally no longer than three years from our last contact, unless a longer period is required by law.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, use our contact page. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; see ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. See also our cookie policy and terms of service.
